hbo’s upcoming new series ‘how to make it in america’ features a mixtape put together by kid cudi and dj green lantern. the mixtape seems to be well constructed, including songs by jadakiss, nipsey hussle, styles p, lupe fiasco, kid cudi, aloe blacc and more.
kid cudi also plays the role of domingo dean on the series. the show is centered around three ambitious 20-somethings who hustle their way through New York City determined to achieve the “American Dream,” the show premieres sunday feb 14th on hbo. i’m appreciative of cudi’s approach to his role on the series, he has no intentions of rapping or anything musical while playing domingo. cudi says:
“It was important to me early on to branch away from music and actually do something outside my comfort zone. When we were developing my character with the writers, I was telling them, ‘Man, I don’t want to be anything that has to do with music,’ just because that’s not really acting.”
